Day 19: Stolen Socks

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Apparently, I didn't pack any socks for my week in Baltimore, so I had to steal these from my 12-year-old sister. I sort of want to keep them.
image from farm6.static.flickr.com I think these socks made me act a little silly. What can I say? It's good to be home. Now back to TV- we're watching an old Cheers Thanksgiving episode.

Outfit Details: Sweater and Top: Loft, Skirt: Romeo and Juliette Couture via Loehmann's, Belt: Goodwill, Socks: Stolen from lauren.

Day 18: Lace + Plaid + Ruffles + Gold

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Nick and I became friends practically instantly this summer when we interned together at PayPal. Though he initially thought I was "ditsy," he liked that I always said what was on my mind and I liked that he listened to me. Nick was kind of a combination of my "work boyfriend," little brother and general buddy. We spent the summer sharing snacks, scouting event locations, and planning a very successful company offsite meeting.

Though we're miles and miles apart now (he's at school in Alabama, and I'm up north in Boston), he'll occasionally call or text to catch me up on his life, and I'll send him IMs (usually in CAPS) just to say hi.

At a time when I'm feeling very distant from my "home" friends it was great to catch up and simply hang out. (I also think it's particularly funny that I look like an elf next to him in the above photo.)

Nick even took today's outfit photos:image from farm6.static.flickr.comimage from farm6.static.flickr.comOutfit Details: Dress: French Connection, Sweater: Loft, Skirt: Loehmann's, Boots: Target, Belt: Borrowed from Sophie's Closet (Can I keep it, Soph?)

Day 17: Alana and Sidekick

image from farm5.static.flickr.com It's good to be home! I've been eating my favorite foods, hanging with my favorite people (minus Eric), and playing with my favorite pups. The only downside: I have to pack up my entire apartment before I go back to Boston Monday morning.

Gosh I hate packing, especially when I don't know where/when I'm making the big move. Thank goodness I have a boyfriend who has taken me in until I find a place!

PS- our ADJewelry giveaway winner is Laura Seiler! Congrats :)

Outfit Details: Jeans- Salt Works via Loehmann's, Top and Sweater- Loft, Belt: Goodwill (!!)

Day 16: Pants Out, Boots In!

image from farm6.static.flickr.com Guys, my trusty pair of grey pants (part of my #30x30 selection) has ripped for the second time in the err...crotch region, and I'm thinking that means they might not fit. I'm dropping them from the rotation and bringing in these great new Sofft Stockholm boots ($200.95 value!) that I won from Running with Heels and Shoeline!

Though I got to pick them out two weeks ago, I didn't actually get to see them until I came home to Baltimore yesterday. They were waiting for me in a GIGANTIC box in the garage. It was pretty much love at first sight. I knew I couldn't wait 14 more days to wear them, so I decided to make the swap!

image from farm6.static.flickr.comAlso awaiting my arrival was my sweet and wonderful puppy, Zooey. She was so, so excited to see me and has been following me around since I got home. It's going to be hard leaving her again, but I know she's very happy here- she's constantly getting treats and even looks a little chubby!

Day 12, 13, 14*: Playing Catch up

image from farm5.static.flickr.com This was probably my favorite outfit of the week. Adding a bit of red lipstick and the red shoes made me feel pretty and sophisticated.

Outfit Details:
Dress, Sweater and Tights: Loft

Shoes: TKMaxx
Belt- thrifted
Coat- J. Crew

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Check out the creepy guy in the back who stole my coat! Just kidding, that's Eric's friend Mike- he's such a sweetheart. I met up with Eric, Mike and Lindsay (Mike's gf) after they went to some beer drinking expo and we got dinner at around 4:30. By 7, our night was already over. There was some discussion of creating an after early-bird special clubbing experience for old people. It would have been pretty convenient, as we were back at Eric's apartment, watching tv before 8.

Outfit Details:
Sweater: FCUK via Rue La La
Jeans: Salt Works via Loehmann's

Boots: Frye via DSW

Necklace: (actually belt) acquired via swap

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Leaving my blouse untucked was all Eric's idea. Normally, I'd wear it tucked to show off the high wasted skirt, but in this case, I think Eric was right. The outfit made for some great spinning and jumping photos!

Outfit Details:
Top and Shoes: TKMaxx
Skirt: H&M
Tights:?
Sweater: Loft via swap
Sunglasses: Gift via Armani Press Office

More photos of all 3 outfits are on my Flickr.

*These photos are from Friday, Saturday and Sunday- I didn't take pictures on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, so techincally I'm missing day 9,10,11. Nothing was tooooo exciting, so I probably won't take pictures for you*

Day 8: Technically Day 9

image from farm2.static.flickr.com Oh, the horror! Late Sunday afternoon, I realized that the sliding lock on my camera's SD card had mysteriously disappeared, making the card unlockable and picture taking impossible. Though Eric attempted some photos with his iPhone, the combination of an early sunset plus my I-just-got-out-of-the-shower hair made the pictures unusable.

Fortunately for me, my new office is full of photographer types, and my boss lent me an extra SD card for the week. I'll grab my spare when I'm back in Baltimore for Thanksgiving.

image from farm5.static.flickr.com So funny story- today the big bosses came into work (on my first day) and one of them asked if I'd gotten a work permit- because you can't start working until you're 12. I've actually never gotten that one before, so I had to laugh a little.

image from farm5.static.flickr.com After my first day at the new job, it was good to come home, reheat some homemade mac & cheese and curl up on the couch with Eric to watch an old western.

Outfit Details: Dress: French Connection, Sweater: Loft, Stockings: Boots in London, Boots: Target

Day 7: Early Morning Charm

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Saturday morning Eric was supposed to cook up some leftover Latin American food in an omelet for himself and make some French Toast with cinnamon swirl bread for me, but at around 8AM I had a craving for blueberry pancakes. It's not really that unusual on a Saturday morning for me to want pancakes, but what I didn't want was to have to go to the grocery store and buy blueberries, just to come back home and have to wait for them to cook. And do dishes.

Instead, we hopped on the bus and headed for Trident Cafe on Newbury St and literally got there just a bit after nine. Yes, we are early birds.

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Breakfast was obviously delicious, and we spent the rest of the morning "shopping" on Newbury St. and at the Pru. I treated myself to some bubble bath which I have yet to use, but am very excited about. That doesn't count as breaking the shopping ban, right?

image from farm5.static.flickr.com I'm pretty sure these are becoming my new favorite shoes, although I don't think I would have worn them if I'd known how much walking we planned on doing!

Day 6: BOWdacious

image from farm5.static.flickr.com The wind in my hair, a spring in my step, a bow on my sweater- what a great day to run errands (pick up Eric's dry cleaning) and look for an apartment online. The sun was shining, so taking photos outside was really enjoyable. Plus, I found out that Eric's dry cleaner has PINK HANGERS.

I'm not a huge fan of dry cleaning (my mom taught me to try to avoid buying dry clean only clothing unless you really, really love something), but I sort of want to bring stuff there...just so I can get some pink hangers!

I guess I could always roll Eric's shirts around in paint/dirt/food so he has to take his clothes in. I'll deny it if accused. It was Mr. Fluffiington, I'll say. Hmm. I'm sneaky.

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Outfit Details: Cardigan: Loft, Pants: Loehmann's, Shoes: Buffalo Exchange

*Please also note yet another appearance of colorful socks. What can I say, I'm a colorful kind of girl!

**Mr. Fluffington is the name we adoringly call the big fluffy dog that sits outside of the bakery down the street from Eric's apartment.

Day 5: Almost a Felony

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Guys, I almost broke one of the cardinal #30x30 rules: no shopping. But you see, the keyword there is ALMOST, and if I had broken the rules, it would have been for a good reason.

I GOT THE JOB.

image from farm2.static.flickr.com After a somewhat tumultuous unemployment period, I'm excited to say that I've been offered an exciting marketing position in Boston. Best of all, my new team seems pretty awesome. Oh, and did I mention we have afternoon cookies every day? (Side note: Will constant cookie noshing require me to buy a new wardrobe?)

Outfit Details: Turtleneck: FCUK via rue la la, Skirt: FCUK via eBay Fashion Vault, Stockings: Boots (London department store), Shoes: Target

Day 4: Fun facts

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Fact 1: This blue blouse is one of my favorites because it's ruffled, belted and has great texture. Plus, it was one of my London purchases, which makes it extra special- I bet I won't find any other Boston girls with this top!

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Fact 2: My mom and I both have this exact pair of jeans, purchased a size too big from Loehmann's. We both wish we'd gotten the smaller versions.

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Fact 3: I scored this Loft cardigan at the Swapaholics Sip and Swap. It was a great find. I love it and can't stop wearing it.

image from farm5.static.flickr.com Fact 4: For the most part, I hate wearing white socks. I find it's harder to find their mates post-laundry if they're not brightly colored. Luckily, I'm dating a guy whose sock collection is even louder than mine- see here.
